About Us
Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is committed to instilling Pride of Place across Maidstone. Our Communications, Marketing, and Events Team plays a crucial role in promoting the borough’s events, festivals, and venues, enhancing the cultural vibrancy of our community. We are looking for a creative and proactive Digital Communications & Engagement Officer (Events) to join our team and deliver the Council’s priorities.

The Role:
Your role will assist in the delivery of innovative digital marketing strategies and campaigns to enhance the visibility and success of events, festivals, and venues across the borough. You will participate in planning and developing engaging content and copy across all available marketing platforms, tracking campaigns from start to finish.

This is a full-time, position on a permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities:
Digital Communications & Promotion: Implement marketing campaigns to promote Maidstone venues, festivals, and events across all our channels.

Content Creation: Research, create, and write compelling content implementing SEO strategies to optimise performance.

Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the Communications Marketing and Events Team, Council service areas, and stakeholders to support the administration of events in MBC venues.

Event Support: Provide on-the-ground support at internal and external events, assisting in the setup and representation of MBC.

Customer Engagement: Serve as the first point of contact for enquiries via email and social media, providing excellent customer service and ensuring timely responses.

Analytics & Reporting: Prepare and present monthly performance reports based on performance analytics and data insights.

Creative Development: Collaborate with the communications and design team to develop marketing materials and social media assets for both digital and print publications. Use creative tools for social media content creation, photo and video editing tools.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated with a flair for creativity and a passion for digital communications and event marketing. The ideal candidate will have:

Experience in content creation, social media, CRM, and with an understanding of search marketing, and online advertising.

Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively within a team.

Proficiency in using social media management platforms, META, Google ad manager, GA4 analytics, CMS and CRM systems.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

A proactive approach to identifying and exploring new digital trends and opportunities.
