This is a low secure hospital providing care and treatment to adults (male and female) with a primary diagnosis of learning disabilities. Patients are all detained under the Mental Health Act and may have Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD); challenging behaviours; dual diagnosis including mental health and personality disorders. We have six wards which provide safe and therapeutic environments for the patient group . The service is in Tendring which is near Clacton on Sea , Essex and has good travel links to nearby towns such as Ipswich, Colchester and also London.
Our Head of Psychology role involves:
Identifying and delivering appropriate and relevant treatments and interventions within the given field of therapy, in order to promote and develop the mental, emotional, physical and social well-being of clients; liaising with family and carers.
Being a member of the SMT Team and managing the Psychology Department.
Identifies, evaluates and implements new and improved methods, techniques and interventions based upon best practice and evidence based research. The role holder is a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
To be successful in this role you will need to have demonstrable previous professional practice experience gained within chosen field of therapy and valid HCPC Registration.
