CCF School Staff Instructor and Driver (dual role)
40 hours split between driving and SSI duties
Working term time plus 4 weeks – 37 weeks

The primary focus of this post is to act as the SSI for the School's Combined Cadet Force. The SSI acts as the military adviser to the Headmistress and the Contingent Commander. The SSI role is central to the smooth and efficient running of the Contingent. This includes its administration and organisation and delivery of military training to all members of CCF at Benenden and John Wallis Academy. The CCF comprises of a royal navy and Army section.

A secondary aspect to this role is to act as School Minibus driver, transporting students safely to various off-site locations. Reporting to the Transport Manager, the incumbent will be required to support a range of school driving tasks, some of which may take place before or after School on a rota basis. Flexibility in working hours will be required.

Days to be worked for the SSI must include Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, although may also include additional hours as may be reasonably required by the School and to meet the demands of the CCF overnight exercises and with an additional commitment to attend termly training camps and exercises.

The full-time salary for this role is £33,650.21 per annum, with actual salary of £29,159.94 based on 40 hours per week, term time plus 4 weeks in the school holidays.

It is a genuine occupational requirement that successful candidates can meet the pre-engagement requirements, and are physically able to lift, bend and carry. The appointment of the SSI is subject to approval and security clearance by the MoD.
