Quality Engineer - CMM Specialist

Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer that has experience of measurement systems and analysis to join our clients team. The successful candidate will manage and execute various measurement systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability in manufacturing processes. You will play a critical role in developing measurement policies, conducting internal audits, and maintaining high-quality standards.



Key Responsibilities:

* Perform and maintain detailed records of Inspection Plans, ISIRs, and FAIRs.
* Develop measurement policies to reduce scrap in the machine shop.
* Participate in product design reviews to promote repeatability and reliability in production.
* Conduct capability studies and gauge R&R as directed.
* Perform internal audits to the AS9100 standard.
* Support other duties as reasonably requested.



Person Specification:



Essential Criteria:

Qualifications:

* Working knowledge of Metrology with a background in Quality Engineering.

Experience:

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Strong knowledge of quality systems.
* Proficiency in maintaining detailed quality records.

Technical Knowledge:

* Applied working knowledge and use of basic Metrology tools (imperial and metric).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Skills & Competencies:

* Understanding of manufacturing processes and tolerances.
* Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines under pressure.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Strong computer skills.



Desirable Criteria:

Experience:

* Experience with Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) and Optical Measurement Systems.
* Certified Internal Auditor to AS9100D.
* Experience with First Article Inspection to AS9102.

Technical Knowledge:

* Familiarity with a wide range of materials, including plastics, rubber, and metals, and their inspection methods.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

* Take reasonable care for health, safety, and the environment.
* Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and site procedures.
* Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to safety standards and use provided safety equipment.
