Job Title: Production Operator
Job Purpose:
The production operator is a multi-skilled individual, they will be working with heavy machinery on the factory floor with computer-controlled equipment or more mechanically based machines to make sure they are set up properly, working well, and producing high quality product in a safe environment.
Job Duties:
· Setup the production equipment and supplies before executing the job orders.
· Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.
· Ensure that equipment is maintained, with the help of the engineering department, in good and safe working condition.
· Inspect equipment to identify any replacements, malfunctions and repairs.
· Perform regular equipment maintenance, with the help of the engineering department, to ensure production capacity and quality.
· Provide assistance to junior operators in their assigned responsibilities.
· Work under the guidance of Team Leader to perform and complete the assigned duties in timely manner.
· Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements.
· Perform visual quality checks on all products made and record machine data on a verification sheet, addressing any anomalies .
· Carry out Strip and Cleans on all compounding lines
· Operate fork lift trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer raw material and finished goods around the working area.
· Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation.
· Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
· Contribute to waste management programs.
· Identify and report unsafe operations to Team Leader immediately.
· Maintain the work area clean, safe and organised.
· To perform quality testing on manufactured compounds (made in the factory and by the R&D department)
· To document test results
· To identify non-conforming material and segregate
· To communicate testing status and results to the Team Leader, Process Engineers and QA Officer
Skills and Qualities:
Product Knowledge and Industry Experience, Effective Communication Skills, Motivational Skills, Results-Oriented, Self-Motivation, Strong Relationship Building, Flexibility and a working knowledge of Excel.
