We are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic, and dynamic qualified Electrician to join our Estates Department in a busy educational and boarding community.

You will support the Maintenance Manager in the day to day running of the School electrical systems, performing all electrical tasks including but not limited to: repairs, fault-finding, undertaking upgrades and refurbishments. There will be a requirement to work on our Paxton door system, carry out various work to our fire alarm system and continue with the conversion of all the remaining School buildings to LED lighting.

Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping is essential, ensuring compliance in all areas. We are looking for someone with a collaborative approach who works well as a member of a team but is also happy working on their own. Interpersonal skills are essential as well as a can-do attitude. A general user knowledge of IT is required for the uploading of documents and keeping of records.

Salary range £35-£40,000 per annum dependent upon qualifications and experience. The role is 40 hours per week, 8.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday, all year round, but some flexibility is required including the occasional weekend and evening if there is an emergency or a pre-planned event. We are currently reviewing our on-call provision and this role will form part of it going forward.

In addition to the above, Benenden School offer employees’ pension contribution, meals provided free of charge while on duty, free on-site parking, and use of the School’s leisure facilities, including a fitness gym and swimming pool.

Benenden School is an independent day and boarding school for girls, founded in 1923 and situated in 250 acres of beautiful parkland in rural Kent. At present, there are 560 girls in the School. A considerable amount of new building has been completed in recent years, including an All-Weather Pitch, Staff Housing and a new School Hall and Music School.
