You will work for an exciting public sector organisation. The Head of Finance role is the strategic lead for the finance department, driving and overseeing effective and high-quality financial planning, aiding the organisation in promoting itself as leading in its sector and ensuring continued growth and learning for the organisation. This role is part-time (ideally 22.5 - 30 hours per week), with agreement of hours and working pattern to be discussed at interview.
Your new role
* To lead the finance team, ensuring it functions efficiently.
* To be an effective and active part of the SMT, being involved in key decisions concerning the planning, implementation, review, and impact of the organisation's strategic plans.
* Implement the organisation financial controls, policies, and procedures in regard to all activity including planning, budgeting, income generation, expenditure and reporting.
* Ensure organisation-wide compliance with internal financial procedures and legal compliance.
* Develop the annual budget and financial forecasting.
* Oversee cashflow management.
* Prepare year-end accounts and reconciliations.
* Prepare reports for the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees analysing performance against KPIs.
What you'll need to succeed
* Relevant qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent experience.
* Experience of being responsible for the financial management of an organisation.
* Experience of charity accounting and accounts preparation under SORP reporting requirements.
* Experience of leading and developing a team.
* Experience or knowledge of data protection and GDPR compliance.
* Experience of overseeing payroll.
