Your new company
This leading regulatory organisation in Brighton is seeking an experienced risk, assurance and/or compliance specialist who will deliver 2nd Line assurance reviews and provide objective opinions on the quality of controls, processes and decision making across the organisation, including recommendations that support risk mitigation and continuous improvement. The vacancy is available for 18 months initially on a Fixed Term employment basis and the long term needs will be reviewed at that time, if not sooner.

Your new role
Your responsibilities will include a requirement to:
* Provide assurance expertise and advice to all levels of the organisation.
* Conduct reviews and assessments across the organisation and produce high-quality reports which deliver robust assurance views to Senior Managers.
* Identify weaknesses or risks in operational policies and procedures and recommend effective mitigations using solid problem-solving skills.
* Take an active role in developing and coordinating training and awareness on assurance activities.

What you\'ll need to succeed
You will need to be able to demonstrate, within your CV and if successfully selected for interview, the skills and experience of:
* Sound understanding of UK legislation, regulation and relevant corporate assessment experience.
* Advanced project management and investigation skills and ability to plan and manage a review from end to-end.
* Comprehensive understanding of principles behind effective processes and controls and the ability to test controls against those principles.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver advice and challenge at all levels.
* Experience working under pressure and managing stakeholders professionally and appropriately.
* Demonstrable technical knowledge and understanding of pension and/or financial regulation.
* Ability to design a central database in SharePoint and Power BI.


What you\'ll get in return
This role will be hybrid working on a full time 35 hours / 5 days per week basis and a minimum requirement to work at least 6 days per month in the Brighton offices, with the rest of the time eligible for home-based remote working. Flexi-time will apply to your working week which means that you can build up extra hours to make use of the opportunity to take up to 2 flexi days per month in addition to your annual leave of 25 days, meaning that, inclusive of bank holidays, a total leave of 57 days per annum can be taken.
