Our client who is a leading Lloyds Broker is looking for a Broking Operations Manager to join their expanding Non Marine Division division in the City of London. The purpose of the role is to deliver and maintain an effective Broking Ops capability within the Division, engaging senior management as needed to ensure gaps are recognised and addressed.
Main Duties:
* Ensure that recruitment of Broking Ops staff meets skills/experience requirements as specified by the Director of Broking Ops, and that all Broking Ops staff have appropriate learning and development plans and support.
* Lead and deliver ad-hoc projects as required.
* Participate in the audit process, and deliver any corrective actions required.
Working with the Director of Broking Ops:
* Deliver and identifying opportunities to continuously improve the processes used within the Broking Ops teams to deliver simplification and a "right first time" mindset and capability.
* Deliver and identify opportunities to improve a suite of key KPIs to track key controls and to demonstrate service improvement and performance per Division.
* Implement Broking Ops improvements (people & skills, process, technology) within own Division.
* Communicate and co-ordinate appropriately with all central/corporate functions (including Insurance Technical Processing, IBA, Claims, Finance, Risk & Compliance, HR, IT, Facilities), including active management and resolution of related issues/requests, escalating to the Director of Broking Ops as required.
* Participate in the cross-division Broking Ops community.
* Responsible to the Divisional Managing Director, with dotted line accountability to the Director of Broking Ops:
* Delivery of the "first line of defence" in the Risk & Compliance Framework (Broking Ops controls and processes).
* Support and supervise staff being deployed into or out of the Division to cover business volumes and variation across the Divisions.
Essential Skills Required:
* Experience and expertise in London Insurance market, with an excellent knowledge of FCA and/or Lloyds regulatory environment.
* Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and evidence of continuous professional development to maintain and refresh this knowledge.
* Ability to lead, motivate and inspire Broking Ops practitioners.
* A continuous improvement mindset.
People management experience and expertise through the complete employee lifecycle - resourcing, managing performance, developing talent, providing support as required etc.
