About the Role

Are you interested in helping us improve and deliver user centred government services?

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Transformation and Digital Services Team at Maidstone Borough Council. We make things better by building modern, accessible, and adaptable services that are simple to use, meets the expectations of our residents and employees and provides value for money.

You will help us to achieve this by turning complex information into simple, accessible and user centred web content for maidstone.gov.uk and the staff intranet.

Some of your duties would be

 Responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining website content, in response to requests from staff, ensuring content is designed in an inclusive way using best practice to meet user need and accessibility standards,
 Help the content and interaction designer to manage editorial content on a day-to-day basis, making sure the website information is clear and consistent.
 Work with service designers, digital developers and other content authors to ensure content meets the digital product style and accessibility standards

About You:

We are looking for a motivated individual with an eye for detail and a passion for making digital journeys easy for users.

You will be qualified to GCSE level or equivalent including Grades A-C in Maths & English. You will be able to understand the importance of website in providing services to customers.

Experience in front-end website development, using things like, jQuery, HTML and CSS.
would be desirable.

Selection Process

Following the submission of your application form, it will be reviewed by the recruiting manager. Those that are successful will be invited to an interview.
