Our client a well-known freight forwarder and logistics company is currently looking for an Import Operations Clerk for their team based in Basildon.

 

As the Import Operations Clerk, you will be managing the import process from start to finish via the in house system, booking deliveries with hauliers, and keeping all clients up to date with all deliveries.

The successful Import Operations Clerk will ideally have previous industry experience, as well as excellent communication skills as you will be required to keep customers updated and liaise with global offices regarding details needed for bookings.

 

Import Operations Clerk Duties:


Send invoices to UK importers prior to shipments arrivingMonitor any port health hold where applicableEnsure cost estimates are entered on all jobs within the correct accounting monthPass all correct invoices for payment and dispute anything that is not as agreedCheck purchase invoices are correct on receiptObtain rate of exchange from carrier and updating system

Previous experience with ImportsExcellent customer service skills
