Credo Care is a leading, reputable and specialist Independent Fostering Agency, making a difference to the lives of children with additional needs. We are recruiting a Supervising Social Worker to join the Credo Care team in the South.

As a Supervising Social Worker with Credo Care, you will supervise an existing caseload of foster carers with children in placement, as well as foster carers who provide respite.

You will support our foster carers in their development to provide high levels of care.

As a specialist agency, we pride ourselves in promoting lower caseloads (the maximum being 10 households), with a focus on quality and compliance across all aspects of social work. As well as this, our social worker’s caseload is allocated depending on reasonable travel time.


Main areas of responsibility include:
• Supervising and supporting foster carers, their placements and support workers.
• To ensure that Credo Care staff and carers are working within the requirements of the Fostering Regulations 2011 and the National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services 2011 (amended 2013)
• To undertake initial home visits for prospective foster carers within reasonable travel distance.
• To attend the regional Fostering Panel as required.
• To ensure safeguarding children is paramount in your work.
• A commitment to attend regular training and development
opportunities.
• You will form part of the on-call out of hours rota (approximately once
every 10 weeks).
Note: Meetings and training are a mixture of virtual and face to face.

In order to be considered you must:
• Have the right to work and live in the UK
• Be CQSW, DIp SW (or equivalent) qualified, with experience of working with looked after children and supervising foster carers
• Be IT literate
• Hold a full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• Have a ‘can do’, flexible approach to work

Credo Care is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to enhanced DBS and local authority checks.

In addition to the salary and on call allowance, we pay business mileage of up to 45p per mile)
37.5 hours per week - home based (9 to 5 with half an hour for lunch)
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and 3 additional days at Christmas/New Year (out of hours excepted)
