Our client, who specialise in customs clearance for both Import into and export out of the UK, are currently seeking an Import / Export Entry Clerk for their team based in Essex.

As the Import / Export Entry Clerk, you will be taking bookings, arranging collections and deliveries, and checking manifests once received.

Your role will be to plan loads, receive pre-alerts from overseas agents, and advise customs of the arrival of cargo.

Other duties of the Import / Export Entry Clerk:


Send load lists to agentsReceiving and checking relevant documentation and passing on to shipping linesNegotiating rates with shipping companiesCreating files both manually and on the computer system - preparing documentation, i.e. Bills of LadingLiaising with overseas agents / customers / hauliersDealing with quotations and charging filesPassing purchase invoices and dealing with any queries
 

The successful Import / Export Entry Clerk will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the industry, as well as strong knowledge of Imports and Exports.

We are keen to speak with candidates who have knowledge and experience of IPAFSS / CHED / PEACHES.

Having excellent communication skills is a key attribute for this role.
