We are currently seeking a Customs Clerk for our client based in Basildon, who specialise in Freight Forwarding through multimodal services.

 

As the Customs Clerk, you will be to complete customs clearing and entries for all Air, Sea and Road Freight shipments, processing Import / Export declarations and obtaining necessary Bill of Ladings and correct Tariff headings.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be dealing with customer’s enquiries, providing excellent advice and estimates.

Your role will be to create and manage all documentation as each case progresses, ensuring all data is kept up to date.

Other duties:
 


Dealing with general enquiries from Importers / Exporters, internal & external sourcesCalculating Duty and VAT costsObtaining payments from customers
 

The successful Customs Clerk will have experience working in a similar role, as well as knowledge of customs declarations within the Freight Forwarding or Logistics industry.

We are keen to speak with candidates who have an understanding of different customs procedures, and experience checking / processing documentatation for shipments.

You will require experience of HMRC CDS and extensive knowledge of Imports and Exports.
