Our client, a provider of worldwide shipping solutions is currently seeking a Seafreight Import Clerk to join their team in Essex,

 

As the Seafreight Import Clerk, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks involved with customer service and communications with clients, origin offices, agents, and vendors to achieve customer satisfaction.

The successful Seafreight Import Clerk will have a good operational know-how of Import/Export procedures, and good commercial sense.

We are keen to speak with candidates who have excellent communication skills, as you will be answering phone calls from clients and vendors on a daily basis.

 

Seafreight Import Clerk Duties:
 


Ensure costs/credits are correct based on tariffs, agreements, and exceptions listsMonitoring daily emails from clients, agents and vendors, and ensure all agents/overseas offices are providing correct documentationMake sure files are entered into system in a timely mannerEnsure warehouses are notified and provided with all required documentationUpdate clients with statuses and ETAs through company systemNotify clients of cargo arrival, availability, and last free day promptly upon receipt of warehouse offload reports
