Our client specialises in Supply Chain and Logistics Solutions, and they are currently looking for an EU Land Freight Operator to join their team in Basildon.

As an EU Land Freight Operator, you'll be dealing with the processing of consignments arriving to the UK by road from Europe. This role would suit someone who is commercially aware, and keen to challenge themselves.

You will be liaising with customers, partners, customs authorities, third party hauliers and agents, obtaining freight rates and providing quotations, processing export and import declarations, receiving manifests/waybills and creating waybills, arranging customs clearance, duty deferment processing, arranging domestic and international transport and preparing collection notes and booking confirmations etc.

We’re keen to speak to candidates with knowledge of imports / exports and/or previous experience as an EU Land Freight Operator.

Duties of the EU Land Freight Operator include:


Liaising with customers, partners, third party hauliers and agentsObtaining freight rates and providing quotationsCustoms formalitiesArranging domestic and international transportPreparation of collection notes, booking confirmations etc.Preparing import documents in accordance with established procedures and guidelinesLiaising with overseas offices, partners and agentsChecking shipping invoices & packing lists for accuracyCommunicating with customersRaising delivery ordersResponsible for raising invoices, costing jobs
Skills & Qualifications of an EU Land Freight Operator:


Previous experience as an EU Land Freight Operator or in a similar role preferable (experience in freight over one year)Strong communication skills, both written and verbalConversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and CRM systemsAn administrative background
