Job: SME Account Handler

Salary: £30,000

Location: Hybrid Working (Chelmsford or Ipswich)



An Insurance Broker is looking for an Account Handler to join their team based in wither Ipswich or Chelmsford with flexible home working too. The purpose of the role will be to assist the commercial team dealing with SME clients.

MAIN DUTIES:

* Looking after an existing book of clients with responsibility for developing the account as well as adding new clients.
* Handling premiums up to around £10,000
* Client communication is mainly by telephone, e-mail and post.

* Managing Property Owners, Retail (Shop), Pub & Restaurant, Hotels, Tradesman, Commercial and Contractors Combined, Motor (individual and fleet), Professional Indemnity, Director & Officers Liability, Cyber & Crime and Legal Expenses
* Using Acturis system on a daily basis
* Promote and support the SME Team both internally and externally to clients
* Utilise the client data given by issuing renewal notices making phone calls to confirm quotations and follow up quotations given then arrange cover where successful
* Deal with any customer enquiries as appropriately required
* Actively cross-sell within the Company where required
* Develop and maintain good relations with our partner insurers negotiating terms and prices where appropriate.
* Administration of existing client polices
* Ensure accurate preparation of renewal letters and cover confirmation and update as required
* Check policy documents for accuracy and breadth of cover.
* Collect and process payments as appropriate where required.

KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

* Previous experience within a similar role
* Knowledge of Commercial Insurance
* Experience dealing with SME clients
* Excellent communication both written and verbal
* Good interpersonal skills
* Confident and effective computer skills
* Knowledge of Acturis - beneficial but not essential
* Ability to develop and sustain relationships with both clients and colleagues
