About the role:

You will be operating in a three-tiered customer service environment. The third tier is the most complex, reflecting the challenges when dealing with customer needs or vulnerability. The Housing Officer role sits in the second tier, dealing with cases of moderate complexity.

You’ll work closely with colleagues in the Customer team and across the organisation, to deliver the best outcome for customers and mhs by taking ownership of a wide range of customer cases. Typically you’ll manage cases where judgment is required, either face-to-face, in customer homes or on the telephone.

About You:

It goes without saying that you’ll have fantastic customer service skills.

You’ll also be able to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation.

You’ll have experience of working within the housing sector, or with people in housing need, in some or all of the following disciplines;

Debt & welfare benefits advice
Tenancy management
Tenancy sustainment
Anti-social behaviour
Housing need.
You’ll have a good knowledge of relevant legislation, and a proven track record of effectively managing a portfolio of cases.

You’ll also need to hold a driving licence, and be able to use your own car for work purposes.

A relevant housing qualification would be useful, but is not essential.

Basic-level Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance is required for this role.
