Warehouse Manager

An excellent opportunity has landed for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join a thriving, successful manufacturing company based in West Kent!
The ideal candidate will have previous Warehouse Management experience operationally but be a strategic thinker, with a positive, hands-on leadership style. This professional multitasker will manage and oversee the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities within the warehouse, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn.
This role is integral to the customer experience, and therefore requires someone who genuinely takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and can maintain high standards.
The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail oriented, and able to track multiple facets of the warehouse at any given time. You must achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate orders, and track shipping times, ultimately overseeing the fulfilment of thousands of products ordered every year.
Duties include;
* Managing 10-30 direct reports
* Directly overseeing the Warehouse department short, medium, and long-term planning to ensure all customer requirements needs are met at all times.
* Working in a busy Warehouse: quality checking; assembly; stock taking; picking and packing
* Using machinery, mainly forklift
* Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
* Recording delivery activity; warehouse and stock administration; document management; using the company MRP system and Microsoft Excel
* Introduce a culture of cost control, reviewing and understanding costs and efficiencies across the department.
* Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met.
* Stock management including strategic improvement of processes
* Ensuring compliance is met in all areas of work such as qualification, training, and safety.
* Ensure all safety concerns are logged and managed appropriately
* Continuously review department processes, removing any unnecessary duplication.
* Introduce a culture of cost control, reviewing and understanding costs and efficiencies across the department
* Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed.
* Work closely with internal and external partners to manage the Operational Supply Chain
* To interact with all departments effectively, using your initiative to ensure that there is little room for error and customer's receive goods as expected.
* Acting as an ambassador for the business always, actively demonstrating the core company values through everything you do
Required Experience;
* Experience in managing a team of no less than 15 employees
* Previous experience working within a fast paced, challenging environment within a senior management role
* IOSH qualified and Reach Truck/ Counterbalance license - Preferred
* Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy.
* A current understanding of Health and Safety requirements within a warehouse.
* Profound knowledge of inventory and inventory control.
* Strong systems skills including experience of end-to-end software and Excel.
* A fantastic attitude to work and the desire to maintain high standards personally and professionally
* A solid working history demonstrating reliability and employability
* Experienced and passionate about presenting key findings across the board, implementing change, and exploring operational improvements
The ideal candidate will be an organised strong leader who has no trouble in delegating & overseeing a busy workload.
You will need to be a natural people's person who is confident in managing and developing people/ teams, flexible with your shift patterns depending on demand and have exceptional organisation skills!
