Role: Warehouse Team Leader
Location: Gillingham
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join their rapidly growing team based in Gillingham
Reporting to the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for managing a small team of warehouse operatives and ensuring smooth, safe and efficient running of all day-to-day warehouse operations.
As the Warehouse Team Leader, you will be responsible for completing a wide range of duties, including but not limited to responsibility for
- the planning and assignment of daily tasks for Warehouse Operatives
-To attend and facilitate the running of daily Warehouse staff meetings and team leader
meetings
- Management of stock and inventories via SAP, maintaining usage data to support
Procurements forecasting activities
- Responsible for the logistics of stock at the External Contractor's warehouse
- Working with outside contractors to oversee the maintenance of equipment and to develop
strong business relationships
- To oversee and implement KPIs for Warehouse operatives
- To provide support in the fixing of GI and CW to stock locations
- To manage the process of stock reaching the production lines
- Obtain and utilise data to drive process improvements across the Warehouse
- Producing MI and KPI reports, presenting to management when required
- Organise and manage daily/weekly and annual stock takes
- Design and improve SOPs
- To maintain and ensure compliance with all Reach Truck/ Counterbalance training and
refreshers for warehouse operatives
- Promoting and adhering to FIFO
- Support the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager when raising purchase requests, working
to company budgets and restraints
We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and have a passion to contribute to the success of the company.In addition to this, you will possess the following:Qualifications
- Essential: GCSE in English and Mathematics
Desirable: Understanding of stock control systems, Forklift license
Experience
- Essential: Experience as a people manager, warehouse experience
- Desirable: Stock control department
Knowledge
- Essential: Health and Safety
Desirable: Fire Industry knowledge
Technical skills
- Essential: Computer Literate with knowledge of Windows operating system
- Desirable: SAP Business 1
- WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
Personal qualities
- Strong communicator verbally and written
- Pro-active and able to take ownership
- High attention to detail
- An analytic approach to problem-solving
- A good thinker and active listener
- Good time management skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn about new processes
