Premier Work Support are partnering with a rapidly expanding business based close to Dartford, who are looking to hire a permanent Transport and Logistics Supervisor.

The main purpose of the role is to ensure our day to day customer deliveries are carried out in such a manner so as to help the growth of the company in a sustainable and cost-effective way.

Key Responsibilities:

* Being the main point of contact for the sales and customer service team for anything delivery/transport related
* Optimising routes to fulfil promised time-slots and providing best service levels
* Management of drivers and third-party carriers
* Managing own vehicles, ensuring safety checks, servicing etc. always up to date
* Developing own fleet of vehicles, working with third parties to drive service levels up and costs down
* Ensuring qualification for main requirements of sites, including FORS registration
* Licence management (CPC qualification), looking into running our own 7.5-ton vehicle
* Working with others to develop accurate and meaningful OTIF score, helping to always improve
* Work together with Warehouse Supervisor and Goods-In Supervisor to ensure prompt deliveries and best methods of loading etc
* Strategic analysis of areas we deliver into to help improve overall customer experience within budget
* Helping to develop delivery/POD/routing system for ultimate advantage

Skills and Experience:

* Proven background and excellent knowledge of transport operations and legal requirements
* Solid experience of managing driver behaviour and management of vehicle checks etc
* Relentless drive for improving the customer experience through excellent service levels
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with all business partners
* Ability to make effective and timely decisions in a time-pressured environment
* Competent user of MS Office, especially including excel

This is a Monday - Friday role with rotating shifts, 8am - 6pm, 9am - 7pm and 10am - 8pm.
