We have an opportunity for a motivated, creative Community Fundraiser to join our well-respected and much loved local hospice charity at The Wisdom Hospice. You will be based in at our offices in the Wisdom Hospice, Rochester.

Working Hours - 37 hours per week

This is an exciting time for The Friends who have expanded their operations over the past few years. The Friends generate income to support the running costs of the Wisdom Hospice paid via monthly grants.

The Friends of the Wisdom Hospice were set up as a charity to initially raise the funds to build a hospice to support the communities of Medway and Swale. The hospice was opened by HM Queen Elizabeth in October 1984. Today we raise our funds through Fundraising Events, Donations generated from supporters, Gifts in Wills, Friends’ Lottery and through our three charity shops which are operated by a separate trading company.


Our ideal candidate will be someone from a community fundraising background with their own exciting fundraising ideas, We may consider others with experience in other income streams with a real passion and desire to join our team.

You will be a positive team player who will be an asset to our successful small multitasking fundraising team. You will need to be a proactive, keen to get out and about in the local community to build strong, lasting relationships and to generate income for the charity.

Our team are responsible for establishing and developing a range of fundraising events as well as managing a network of fundraisers and volunteers, building relationships with local organisations, schools and community groups in order to identify fundraising opportunities within our area.

Our wish list includes previous experience in a fundraising role, proven ability to meet income targets. You will be a confident public speaker and an effective networker with an ability to motivate and influence a diverse range of people.

The role will require you to have a good local knowledge and to travel throughout Medway & Swale, so you must hold a full licence and have your own transport.
