Syndicate Underwriting Operations Team Leader

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary to £60,000 p.a.



A wonderful opportunity to join a leading Lloyds syndicate on an interim basis to cover maternity leave.

* Manage and be responsible for the Underwriting Operations Technician Team.
* Provide training, coaching, individual, and team meetings, for all team members ensuring that each individual is competent in their role.
* Ensure the team structure is aligned to growth plans and provides a consistent high standard of support to stakeholders.
* Complete performance reviews in-line with the Company's policy, set SMART objectives and consistently monitor these.
* Be point of contact for all escalations in regards to the Underwriting Operations Technicians.
* Ensure all Service Level Agreements are constantly met and implement plans to eliminate any issues.
* Support business process transformation initiatives designed to build efficiency into end-to-end processes across the department and organisation.
* Monitor quality assurance, ensuring quality constantly meets the defined Service Level Agreements and resolve any issues raised.
* Assist the Operations department with regulatory reporting, query resolution and other tasks as required.
* Be responsible for core month-end close tasks including the completion of all key month-end close reporting.
* Serve as a subject matter expert on process changes and system initiatives.
* Assist in the overall management of the Operations department ensuring that all processes and procedures are followed in-line with best practice.
* Deputise for the Underwriting & Claims Operations Manager when required.
* Report any suspicion of financial crime to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer immediately.
* Operate within the Company's standards for Treating Customers Fairly.
* Manage any potential conflicts of interest to avoid disrepute to the company's integrity.
* Advise Compliance of any complaints immediately.



Experience & skills:

* 2 years' experience at Team Leader / management supervisory level;
* Supervisory and / or management experience;
* Knowledge of Lloyd's and London Market processing arrangements for premiums;
* Lloyd's Franchise Board standards;
* Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority framework;
* Internal processes and procedures; and
* Operational standards.
