A ER Specialist for a Waste Management Company covering the Sussex & Kent Region.

Your new company
Our global waste management client is recruiting an ER specialist to join their team of 28 other Employee Relations Specialists across the UK, covering 15,000 employees. This is a field based role, where you will be travelling to sites across Kent & Sussex such as Brighton, Lewes, Canterbury, Gravesend, Horsham and Folkestone once or twice a week.

Your new role
As an ER Specialist you will cover the Kent and Sussex area and will act as the first point of contact for operational line managers on employee relation matters, providing specialist advice and solution in line with current legislations. This will include, but not limited to disciplinary, grievances, investigations, restructures and capability. You will liaise with the company's legal advisors in relation to more complex cases and support the ER and Policy department manager and external solicitors with the management of employment tribunal claims as required.

What you'll need to succeed

* You must have a proven track record in managing a range of complex trade union issues/disputed gained in a complex operational environment.
* You will have experience in an HR generalist or ER role within a unionised and regulated environment with different trade union groups.
* Proven ER experience including advising on complex disciplinary and grievance issues with the ability to apply the relevant legal principles and risk assessment
* Experience of supporting large scale organisational change and restructuring programmes including TUPE, redundancy and contractual variations
* Experience of partnering with trade unions and a good understanding of the trade union framework and collective bargaining
* Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to interact across all levels of management
* Minimum level 7 CIPD or equivalent qualification. Chartered member of CIPD or working towards this with evidence of continuous professional development
* You must have a full UK driving licence and have access to a car

What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a salary of £40,000-£48,000 plus £6,600 car allowance or company car, 25 days annual leave, flexible & hybrid working, generous pension (5% employee, 10% employer), 20% bonus, cycle to work scheme and excellent progression opportunities.
