We are currently working with a leading specialist manufacturer of metal products based near Maidstone.

Due to expansion, they are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quality Technician to join their team.

This is a hands-on role that would suit an experienced Quality Technician with a strong background in the inspection of fine limit sheet metal fabrications and associated products.

Responsibilities will include:

Final inspection of sheet metal and machined components to drawings manufactured in their engineering plant
Inspection of incoming raw materials and sub-contract operations
In-process inspection of parts
Maintain all quality records
Calibration of measuring equipment
Assisting the quality engineer with non-conforming investigations
Assisting with ISO 9001 management system duties
Meeting production deadlines for orders
Supporting the quality team in discussions with suppliers and customers over concerns and issues

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Experience of fine limit sheet metal inspection
Experience in using measurement equipment
A good understanding of reading engineering drawings, tolerances and first principle measuring techniques
Experience and understanding of ISO 9001
Strong organisational and decision-making skills
Proficient IT skills and experience in ERP systems
Team player possessing good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with the staff at all levels
Possess good attention to detail

Desirable Skills:

Experience of CMM
Experience in XRF analysis
Experience in hardness and tensile testing
Experience of 8D, FMEA, AQAP processes
