This Tunbridge Wells SEND school are looking for a new tutor to deliver 1:1 and small group learning in GCSE Maths and Science. Experienced teachers, tutors and NQTs will be considered as well as those unqualified candidates with suitable experience.

This role will be recruited on a temporary basis but will be made permanent for the right candidate following a probation period.

This Ofsted Outstanding school teaches a full GCSE programme in English, Maths and Science as part of a holistic curriculum framework. Teachers and Tutors have the freedom to plan lessons of their own design but a wealth of resources are available to manage the busy workload of being a teacher.

In this job you will be working with mixed ability students who have failed to connect with mainstream education and have SEND. You will need to fully understand the nature of those needs and have strategies and a teaching methodology to overcome them. You will be required to set clear behavioural boundaries and have a clear reward and sanction policy. You will develop strong relationships based on mutual respect and communicate regularly with students.

To be successful in this role you will need:

* The ability to teach Maths or Science at GCSE level
* The ability to lead learners on a 1:1 or small group basis with excellent classroom presence
* The ability to manage any instances of challenging behaviour
* The experience of planning and preparing unique and exciting lessons
* The up-to-date knowledge of current teaching practices and safeguarding legislation
