Our client, a thriving transportation company based in Tilbury is looking for an experienced Import Operator to join their team on a permanent basis. To be considered for this role you must have knowledge of rail, road, air and ocean freight. The ideal candidate will have good telephone manner and excellent attention to detail.
Duties will include:
* Planning and arranging of international consignments according to client instructions and requirements
* Take financial responsibility costs and revenue
* Monitoring of inbound and cross trade movements
* Opening of files and issuing notices of arrival for shipments and Cross-Trades
* Monitoring and reporting on time pick up and departure
* Communicating with overseas offices/partners
* Ensuring all delivery requirements of the end customer are met
* Regularly updating customer service monthly rates
* Responding to and resolving all enquiries promptly and efficiently
* Administering the operating procedures as defined by customer services
* Compiling daily reports on outstanding collections/deliveries
* Communicating any changes to transport plans
* Managing and liaising with suppliers
This is a full-time, permanent role, with the hours of 8am to 5.30pm.
