I am hiring for the position of a Procurement Manager for one of my local authority client. It is an interim contract for 6 months, working remotely for 4 days a week.

Job Purpose:

To be responsible and accountable for the leadership and management of the team and effectively co-ordinating activity of procurement support services across the County Council.

To support the Legal Services Manager and wider departmental leadership team in the delivery of service plan and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities:

* To lead the team
* Contribute to regional and national procurement forums
* To attend the joint Collaborative Procurement Board to present reports and data analysis.
* To recruit, motivate, manage and support all staff
* To build trust and co-operative working practices with all partners and stakeholders

Essential Criteria:

* Substantial experience of UK procurement procedures and policy in practice.
* Experience of managing people and implementing operational plans, with a track record of good performance.

Desirable Criteria:

* Public sector procurement experience.
* Experience of procurement challenges.
* Experience in project management and high value procurement exercises.
* Awareness of procurement case law.
