We are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Automation Maintenance Engineer, we are an award winning manufacturer of plastic products based in North Kent
This position will be suited to a school leaver of 18 years and over who is conscientious and reliable.
Here at Floplast we have an exciting opportunity for an individual who has some engineering experience or has studied Mechanical Engineering and or Electrical and is ready to get on the career ladder.
If you are studying or have studied engineering already would be advantageous but not essential
Working alongside our Senior Automation Engineers you will learn all aspects of the automation processes which include but is not limited to robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and mechanical to produce a product that complies with FloPlast’s quality standards.
The successful candidate will obtain NVQ’s level 2 and 3 and BETC levels 2 and 3 this will be offered fully funded through a local collage
Working hours while training are Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm,
The role will include the following:
• To attend college with high levels of punctuality and attendance.
• To ensure all college preparation is achieved. (To aid you with this our senior automation engineers will be on hand to assist with any
questions you may have).
• To work with Senior Automation engineers and learn all aspects of the automation equipment.
• To ensure that maintenance is carried out safely and within Health and Safety guidelines.
• Adhere to the FloPlast training guidelines when working on the automation equipment.
• To work with the senior engineers to reduce machine downtime within the Automation department.
Once qualified duties to include
• You will be responsible for the quality of the product assembled/packaged via the automation department. As part of this responsibility,
regular quality checks are required on each machine.
• To ensure the Automation department and the surrounding area are maintained in a clean and tidy condition at all times, especially after
work has been carried out.
• To ensure that the Automation machines are restarted after tool changes with minimal downtime incurred.
• To work with the shift Supervisor, Senior Engineers and QC department, to monitor and adjust the manufacturing parameters to ensure
that the required quality standards are maintained.
• To ensure that any machine “faults” (electrical or mechanical) are reported to a senior engineer or manager to be rectified and training can
be provided.
• To work with the Directors and Managers of the company to progress improvements within the department.
• To comply with all the requests of your Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the department. This may include flexible working as
required.
In return we offer
• Weekly pay above the current national apprentice wage at £7.00 per hour
• 22 days holiday per year plus bank holidays

• Christmas Bonus after a qualifying period
