Our Aylesford, Kent site is currently looking for a Waste & Recycling Operative to join the Transport team. The role reports to the Logistics Controllers. This is a full-time position on a 40-hour working week, working patterns vary between 0600-1400, 1000-1800 and, 1200-2000.

Working as the Waste & Recycling Operative you will work in a team of two at the forefront of Polypipe Building Services’ waste reduction initiative where you will be responsible for reducing the business waste footprint through focused attention on recycling and reducing current waste streams.


Responsibilities will include sorting & feeding commercial waste into the appropriate machines or bins for disposal, alongside sorting handling equipment and returning useable examples back into the supply chain. Handling and processing of returned and end of use products will also be required.

The Waste & Recycling Operative will be responsible for the correct and safe loading and unloading of vehicles using MHE and the accurate completion of delivery and collection paperwork.

In addition, the successful applicant will be responsible for the H&S of all staff and visitors in the yard area, managing goods vehicle movements in the yard and minimising risk through very high standards of housekeeping and the monitoring & control of all activities carried out in the area.

·MHE licence or willingness to train

·Banksman certificate or willingness to train

·Excellent organisational skills
