Watling Court is recruiting for a part time Domiciliary Care Supervisor, who\'s principle responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) overseeing the Domiciliary Care Teams delivery of the Wellbeing Service (24 hour emergency response service) during their contracted hours and working closely with the Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with the Care Quality Commissions (CQC) Fundamental Standards and Key Lines of Enquiry.
The ideal Domiciliary Care Supervisor will demonstrate
o A caring and compassionate approach
o Patience and understanding of older people
o Evidence of competence to undertake the post (NVQ L3 or above)
o Evidence of the qualification required to fulfil requirements of the post - NVQ L3 or above
o Teamwork, management and leadership skills
o Strong commitment to non-discriminatory housing services and to providing excellence
o Willingness to undertake training
o Efficient and effective administrative skills
o Strong customer focus
o Honesty, trustworthiness, reliability and respectfulness.
o An understanding of Health and Safety
o Good IT skills, so they can facilitate and support improvements to services, good communications and useful Management Information
o Good communication and negotiation skills with different groups, e.g. staff, service users, local community
o Understanding of different values / cultures of service users and staff
o Good timekeeping
o Professionalism
The ideal Domiciliary Care Supervisor will have the ability to:
o Play an active role in creating a good environment
o Prioritise their work and organise others
o Lead and motivate their team, participating in daily tasks
o Be aware of the support needed by others, consider how they can support them and encourage and support them
o Take responsibility for all aspects of the care delivered and ensure compliance in keeping with CQC Fundamental Standards, Organisational policies and procedures and other relevant legislation
o Support the Registered Manager and join the on-call rota
o Liaise with service users, their relatives and other Healthcare Professionals as and when necessary
o Prepare, agree, evaluate and monitor care and support plans, undertake any necessary risk assessments and facilitate all /any work related reports and documentation
o Recognise and work to meet where possible the diverse and unique needs of each service user
o Manage conflict
o Train for and take on additional responsibilities
o Listen carefully and attentively
o Respect the dignity and privacy of all those they come into contact with
o Apply their knowledge and training in the workplace
o Uphold the policies and procedures of The Organisation
Rapport Housing and Care offers Supported, Residential and Nursing Care to older people with physical frailty and Dementia across Kent.
