Functional Skills and Enterprise sessions - Young People with SEND

We are searching for someone with a passion for teaching and enterprise, who is creative, resourceful and proactive, to work across the Supported Employment and Preparation for Employment programmes. The role will be split across Functional Skills and our new Enterprise program - 2 days, per week, in each session.

Our ultimate goal is to inspire, enable and support more young people with learning difficulties and/or autism to achieve a job and career.

Fixed-term contract, until end Aug 2023.
Part-time – 4 days a week, term time only.
Location: Medway.

Salary and benefits: £11 per hour. £21,164 per annum, pro rata to 39 weeks
(pro rata salary £11,154) + holiday pay + employer pension contribution + Salary sacrifice scheme

The Role:
The successful candidate will be working alongside the Enterprise Teacher and Functional Skills Teacher, taking on a wide range of responsibilities including: preparation of learning materials; working with individuals/groups, including supporting and accompanying on enrichment trips and places of interest; facilitating and creating a stimulating environment; providing feedback to the young people on their progression during lessons and after lessons; lesson preparation according to the curriculum; attending monthly Enterprise day or Curriculum Development meetings as an opportunity to discuss young people’s learning; offering pastoral support for young people as identified; identifying challenges that young people face in their learning.

If you have...

Experience working alongside and supporting young people with autism and/or learning difficulties.
An understanding of enterprise and/or business and are interested in exploring innovative enterprise ideas.
Experience in adapting teaching practices to suit individual learning styles.
Great interpersonal and communication skills.
An understanding of the importance of Safeguarding.
Ability to manage competing priorities/pressures confidently and calmly.
Confidence using ICT.
A strong desire to support and inspire disadvantaged young people with complex social and emotional needs to reach their full potential.
Commitment to our vision and values and see your work as a vocation and contribution to social change.
A creative, enthusiastic and resourceful approach.
