Pearson Whiffin Education are working on behalf of a secondary school in the Medway towns, in the recruitment of a Pastoral Support Worker. It is an opportunity to join a friendly, dedicated team at a school with state-of-the-art facilities.

This job will require you to work with students on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will work with students from a variety of backgrounds ensuring that they can fully access the learning offered to them across the school and managing any events of challenging behaviour or emotional need. You will use behaviour management techniques, mediation and have a calming approach to conflict resolution. You will support the school through attendance assessment and work with students submitting UCAS applications and applications to work or further education.

In order to apply for this role you must have the following:

* Experience working with students of secondary school age (11 - 18)
* The ability to calmly manage instances of challenging behaviour
* Mediation skills
* Good listening skills
* Hold a valid in date DBS or are willing to complete one
* Have the right to work in the UK.
