Distribution Shift Manager

Our client is an agricultural firm based in Thanet, who are looking for a Distribution Shift Manager to join their organisation. Assisting in the management and control of all activities within the loading areas, ensuring high performance and achieving objectives.

Key responsibilities:

* Support the Logistics & Operations Manager, to drive continuous improvements and achieve the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets
* Plan, coordinate and monitor orders, assembly, and dispatch of all our produce
* Liaise closely with the planning and production teams ensuring that information flows both ways effectively
* Coordinate the use and compliance of automated and computerised systems
* Ensure the distribution areas operate within the Health, Safety and Environmental constraints required, and Implement revisions where required
* Assist with recruitment, training, development, and retention of staff
* Monitor and amend the shift rotas to ensure effective and efficient shift cover when
* Participate as a member of the distribution management team providing input to strategy and collective decision making as required to make an effective contribution to the overall running of the business
* Cover for the Logistics & Operations Manager during periods of absence and as and when required
* Service all production lines with produce, trays, and pallets as required by Production team
* Operating a PPT & driving a forklift

Person Specification:

* Experience from within a distribution business serving multiple retailers is essential
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse
* People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate others, and delegate
* Planning and organisation skills
* Excellent technical and IT skills
* Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
