Transport Clerk

Our client is an agricultural firm based in Thanet, who are looking for a Transport Clerk to join their organisation. You would be carrying out a range of activities in the transport office to ensure the organisations operational objectives and standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the tray and pallet accounts, do all the reconciliation including tray and pallet audits. Review stock levels and de-hires and manage transfers between accounts.
* To provide administrative support to the transport operation
* Daily communication with hauliers for booking of transport
* Dealing with drivers at the office window; making sure they go on the correct bay and that they hand keys to the office, given the relevant paperwork, and wearing the correct PPE
* Submit orders to hauliers
* raise purchase order numbers for all glasshouse loads
* Working closely with the shunter and the yard team to ensure all loads on site are collected on time and that we provide trays and pallets to the glasshouse as required
* Assist and support the warehouse staff to maximise effectiveness and efficiency

Person Specification:

* Computer literate
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good communication, numeracy, and organisation skills
* Flexibility to work different shifts to cover sickness and holiday absence including night shifts
* Experience in a similar, office-based role is preferable
