Team Leader

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: £11.03p.h.

HOURS: 35.75

SHIFT: Two week rolling rota with Split Shifts (7.30am to 10am then 4pm to 10pm) and Long Days at weekends (7.30am to 10pm)

WK 1 - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

WK 2 - Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Staff in CQC Registered and Supported Living services are required to undertake sleep-in shifts and receive an allowance, topped up to NLW where appropriate.

About the Role: TEAM LEADER

Our Team Leaders are responsible for ensuring our high standard of person-centred care is maintained. Working hands on alongside their team providing guidance and support; helping them to develop in their roles and supporting a positive working culture. With the ability to communicate and build relationships with people from all walks of life. Liaising with families, health care professional and other stakeholders to ensure that the best care is provided. Have knowledge and experience of administering medication. Deal with challenging situations quickly, resolving them by being able to think on their feet. Making sure all service user and staff records are maintained. Ideally, you will already be an experienced Team Leader that has led a committed team of experienced and new to care staff within a service for people with autism.

Meet the Team:

Our Jemmett Road site offers superb residential accommodation for 6 adults with Autism. Everyone has their own room which they have decorated and chosen the furnishings themselves with help from their staff team. There are shared communal areas which include a lovely large garden and a sensory room for all to enjoy. Our residents are really active and love to go on lots of different adventures visiting a variety of locations to explore. Participate in a wide range of activities such as visiting theme parks and going on rides, going to the pub, eating out, shopping, baking, listening to music, and socialising with other people.

The specialist staff team in situ are looking forward to welcoming a new colleague and have suggested we let you know that they are all a little dog mad and love a spot of gardening, they are all friendly and eager to welcome you to the team!

If you are a positive, forward-thinking, and compassionate Specialist Support Worker (don\'t worry if you\'re not dog mad or green fingered) then we would love to hear from you.

o Care Certificate (can accept transferable evidenced certificate)

o Specialist Pathway Training
o Health and Safety and Compliance Training
o On the job observation and assessments


Tasks / Responsibilities of a Team Leader:

The Team Leader role may include but not be limited to:

o Providing direct supervision, coaching, and mentoring to support staff Identify staff training needs
o Manage all finances relating to the service in accordance with policies and procedures
o Establish and maintain effective communication with families and relevant others
o Ensure relevant parties are regularly updated through regular, planned reviews and reports
o Support individuals within the community in activities such as bike rides, long walks and shopping
o Ensuring written records are correctly maintained
o Administering medication
o Uphold their privacy, confidentially and dignity
o Assisting individuals with personal care and hygiene
o Household management tasks cooking, cleaning etc.
o Working with individuals who can display challenging behaviours hurting self or others, running away, throwing things, swearing, shouting.


o Working with and supporting individuals with additional needs, such as epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities.
o Will include lone working
o Staff in CQC Registered and Supported Living services are required to undertake sleep-in shifts and receive an allowance, topped up to NLW where appropriate
o Drive an individuals mobility car or service vehicle Manual Licence required
o Supporting individuals to maintain relationships with family and friends
o Handle money to shop, going to the bank etc
