Your new role

You will be required to work full time for the position, being available from 08:30 till 15:30 to support a young person on a 1:1 basis throughout the entire day.
Throughout this role there will be a vast array of responsibilities; this starts from the young person's arrival, supporting them through the transition from home to school; it is therefore vital for you to be prompt and timely when arriving for shift. There are many reasons for a young person to require SEN support within the mainstream framework.Specific details of their needs will be discussed.
You will be expected to support the class teacher throughout, encouraging engagement and therefore a positive attitude is essential for this role.



What you'll need to succeed

Alongside these requirements, your attitude and mindset are vital for being successful in this role. A positive and calm mindset is needed, with a strong ability to communicate with young people. You should be dedicated to providing tailored support for the young person and this should be reflected in your daily approach to work. Alongside this, having good listening skills and the ability to understand a young person's reactions is essential for being able to support the young person fully.

You will need to be confident within your own behaviour management techniques aswell as following the school polociy. You will need to be sympathetic and understanding with this child.
