Do you have experience in an apprentice-focused role and a passion to support, mentor and monitor progress of apprentices?

This part-time (14 hours per week) two year fixed term Apprenticeship Adviser role within the new and exciting Digital and Lifelong Learning (DaLL) Team has a particular focus on Social Work apprenticeships and will see you taking responsibility for ensuring an excellent experience for apprenticeships in support of our education strategies.

You will be committed to high performance, continuous improvement and have an aptitude for developing effective partnerships with internal and external contacts, while utilising your knowledge and experience to recruit, support and review new apprentices and to promote higher and degree apprenticeships to employers. Experience in Social Work or Counselling is desirable but not essential.

As Apprenticeship Advisor you will:

provide a timely and efficient recruitment and admissions service to apprenticeship employers
support, mentor and monitor progress of apprentices
lead on resolving issues, where appropriate mediating on any concerns raised with apprentice, employer and provider
have thorough knowledge of the apprenticeship portfolio DaLL and partner colleges offer to support marketing the apprenticeship opportunities to relevant sectors
To be successful in this role you will have:

a first degree or equivalent experience of working in a similar role within higher or further education
direct experience of supporting, mentoring and monitoring progress of apprenticeships
an understanding of apprenticeship funding models and apprenticeship standards
excellent customer service and communication skills
The University of Kent has delivered higher apprenticeships since 2011, working with industry leading employers including GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and the Government Economics Service. The department of Digital and Lifelong Learning at Kent was established to build on this experience to help deliver apprenticeships and academic programmes tailored to learner and employer needs. It also has an important role to play within the University, supporting academic schools on all aspects of delivering apprenticeship training, academic programmes and the Lifelong Learning agenda.
