An exciting new instruction from a key client and global manufacturing company in the area for a Senior Buyer to join the Procurement Team of 9.

The main focus for this position, although there is some flexibility, is that we are ideally looking for an individual from a pharmaceutical/cosmetics./food or associated industry background experience, but ultimately you must have purchased packaging and raw materials, and this should be clearly evident on your CV.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with significant procurement experience, including a track record of delivering cost improvements, in a multi-national business, cross functional teamwork with a strong understanding of End to End Supply Chain and SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) processes.

Education & Experience:
CIPS qualification desirable or other professional qualification
Degree level preferred.
Good technical understanding of procurement within Pharma, Food Supplement and/or cosmetics desired.
Good communication skills with any other languages (particularly French) helpful although not considered essential.
Strong IT skills, ideally with proficiency in SAP and ERP systems.

The Role:
As a member of the senior procurement team, you will source, negotiate and contract for specified spend categories on behalf o user departments and to develop effective business partnerships with suppliers and internal customers.

Responsibilities will include:
Supplier RFQ for projects (NPD and Rapid Commercialisation).
Contribution to project meetings representing the procurement department. Updates on price, lead time and associated costs for launch..
COG confirmation with prices at a range of MOQs/EOQ’s
Anticipate and communicate any potential risks to deliveries.
Support and manage the commercial relationship between the Project Management Office team and external suppliers on specific projects so that customer needs are met, whilst maintaining effective business relationships with suppliers and customers.
Supply Gap Analysis – Assist in the delivering Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
o CDA GAP analysis and implementation
o Supplier agreement/Contract analysis and execution
o COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) compliance and management
Participate in supplier performance management and reviews.
Supplier Price Management – Negotiating pricing and terms, SAP maintenance.
Manage Supplier relationships and KPIs for portfolio in charge.
Assist with annual budget cost setting .
Direct cover for the GP (Global Projects) Procurement Manager as required and in times of absence.
Participate and take ownership of G2G program, (cost down program).

Procurement Management System (SAP)
Supplier Price Maintenance – update changes in line with department response time.
Changes to supplier agreement on MOQ or lead times.
Setting up new component codes.
Updating info records as and when required.

Business Impact:
Use appropriate procurement methodologies to meet client requirements and procurement objectives.
Follow strategic and commercial business goals to manage risk when negotiating agreement to meet business objectives.
Develop and maintain service level agreements and contracts with suppliers to ensure the quality and timely supply of goods.

Strategy & Planning:
Identify, analyse and communicate new opportunities within categories.
Provide project management and commercial expertise for various spend categories.

Teamwork:
Sharing of information as a team member.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues both internal and external to the business and initiate discussions with other teams/department to manage the resolution/response to issues or problems with supplier performance.

Package:
A good basic salary is available plus company performance related bonus and attractive benefits that include:
24 days annual leave (plus you can buy/sell 2 days) plus benefits.
Up to 9% matched contribution pension scheme.
Health Cash Plan.
Some business travel as required.
The role will be home based in the very short term and then 2/3 days in the office with the remainder working from home.
