We have an exciting opportunity for a Service & Maintenance Engineer to join our team based in Gillingham, this is a full-time permanent role and in return, you will receive a competitive salary plus benefits including 25 days holiday, free parking and Death in Service.

MEMS Power Generation are a specialist temporary power solutions provider in operation 24/7, supplying disaster recovery solutions for our diverse range of customers. With a fleet of over 600 generators and over 40 years’ experience, we’re a family-run business that has retained its family feel all while growing to become the supplier of choice in the UK power rental market.

As our Service & Maintenance Engineer you will undertake all aspects of generator maintenance and repair both onsite and within the field, proactively and reactively.

Whilst in your initial training period, you will be part of the call out rota working with and assisting the team to develop your skills and knowledge within the business and generator industry. As an engineer you will be on call to support the business maintaining a true 24/7 operation.

Key responsibilities of our Service & Maintenance Engineer once trained will include:

- Generator Service and maintenance
- Reactive repairs
- Preventive maintenance
- Fault finding / diagnosis and rectification
- Testing and inspection of equipment
- Preparation of project specific rental applications
- Generator baby-sitting
- Maintaining all rental equipment ensuring safety and fit for purpose
- Commissioning
- Assisting in installing and de-installing equipment
- Working on research and development of new mechanical products
- Maintaining H&S; Quality and Environmental Standards as per the relevant Manuals
- Maintaining high standards of good housekeeping at all times

What we’re looking for in our Service & Maintenance Engineer:

- Demonstrable, in-depth knowledge of electrical or mechanical engineering
- At least 2 years working experience within the industry
- A full driving licence as you will be required to travel
- Excellent communication skills
- A good work ethos
