Are you a highly numerate finance administrator with an eye for detail and an ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels?

The Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) is a new and innovative joint endeavour between the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University. This exciting new opportunity will suit you if you have experience in a similar role within an accounts or finance environment and you are looking to develop your skills and experience in this area.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support delivery of all aspects of the School's financial requirements, adhering to service level agreements and the University's financial regulations. As Finance Administrator you will:
• administer a range of transactional financial processes including expenses claims, timesheet claims, sales invoices, credit card reconciliation, cash advances, petty cash, hospitality cards and online store items
• arrange travel for the School, booking flights and hotels for staff, students and visitors while ensuring compliance with the University’s purchasing regulations
• act as first point of contact for general finance queries ensuring excellent customer service is provided
• record and monitor relevant School funding

To be successful in this role you will have:
• GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above) and a foundation level financial qualification (be actively studying towards or willing to undertake) or equivalent
• good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages, and a good understanding of databases and spreadsheets
• excellent and demonstrable numeracy skills
• the ability to remain focused and effective when faced with competing demands in a busy environment

Our vision for KMMS is to create a new medical school for Kent and Medway that becomes a beacon for first-class medical education and research. The School will attract the most talented aspiring doctors from within the local community and beyond, offering training and development opportunities that will help to keep that talent in Kent and Medway.

The University of Kent is a distinctive and attractive place to work. We employ over 6,000 staff, including academic and research staff and a full range of support and administration staff. Our stunning main campus in Canterbury, Kent was founded in 1965 and is set among green and tranquil open space overlooking the spectacular Cathedral.
