Waking Night Support Worker

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: £9.87p.h.

HOURS: 35

SHIFT: 2 week rolling rota. Working 9.30pm to 7.30am

LOCATION: Perrys Close, Faversham

CLOSING DATE: 10th June 2021

About the Role: Waking Night Support Worker

Waking Night Support workers help the people we support to feel safe and secure throughout the night. Delivering exceptional care and individualised support ensures that our residents live as independently and safely as possible. In addition the responsibilities of the role are to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the service and carry out necessary utility checks. This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your skills and experience. Having a background in supporting people with Autism in a previous role within a social care environment is desirable, although is not essential.

What is essential is that you understand that autism can be complex and challenging and that each person we support is unique.

Our Perrys Close site offers superb, purpose built modern residential accommodation currently for 5 adults with Autism Our tenants participate in a wide range of activities and enjoy walks along the coast, going out for dinner, baking, working on the services allotment, cycling and chatting about there own interests as well as listening to of all kinds music The specialist staff team in situ are looking forward to welcoming a new colleague and have suggested we let you know they love a good theme night, are all friendly and eager to welcome you to the team!

If you are a positive, forward-thinking and compassionate Specialist Support Worker (don\'t worry if you don\'t have any leg warmers for an 80s theme night) then we would love to hear from you.

Training Provided:

o Care Certificate (can accept transferable evidenced certificate)
o Company Induction
o KAT Foundation Training Award
o Specialist Pathway Training
o Health and Safety and Compliance Training
o On the job observation and assessments


TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES OF A WAKING NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER (MAY INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

o Routine safety checks on individuals and their environment
o Ensure the service is safe and secure
o Household management tasks cooking, cleaning etc.
o Administering medication
o Assisting individuals with personal care and hygiene
o Ensuring written records are correctly maintained
o Will include lone working
o Working with individuals who can display challenging behaviours - hurting self or others, running away, throwing things, swearing, shouting.
o Working with and supporting individuals with additional needs, such as epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities.
o Understanding each individuals abilities and support needs
o Promoting independence and choice
o Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
o Uphold the privacy, confidentially and dignity of all individuals
o To form good working relationships with other members of staff across different services.
o A commitment to continuous personal development and learning.
