Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager the duties of the post holder will be:
 To monitor, analyse and report on the project costs incurred by the business and its subsidiaries.
 To assist on the formation of the annual fixed asset budget in conjunction with our Engineering and Commercial colleagues.
 To contribute towards the monthly management reporting process, by preparing schedules, reviewing costs with managers and completing designated tasks within the reporting timetable.
 To develop and implement processes and systems controls to improve the quality of information and support the integrity of financial records, in conjunction with the Finance manager and other colleagues across the business.
 To ensure all journals relating to fixed assets including asseting, disposals and depreciation are correctly processed.
 To assist in the preparation of schedules that form part of the tax computations.
 To prepare schedules where required for the annual external audit.
 To provide information within agreed timescales to all customers (both internal and external).
Generic Duties
 Any other duties assigned by the manager or supervisor from time to time. Such duties will be reasonable in relation to the job holder's skills, abilities and status.
 To comply with environmental instructions and to identify potential risks to the environment, or areas where environmental impact can be reduced.
 To comply with all safety instructions and to accept responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by what you do. To identify potential risks in the work area, and to report such risks promptly to management.

What you'll need to succeed
Higher education to degree level or equivalent
ACA, CIMA or ACCA part-qualified
At least 3 years' experience of working in a finance function within a commercial environment.
Up to date knowledge of technical accounting issues and regulations
Use of computerised accounting systems and desktop applications
Advanced Excel and Word
An excellent commercial sense, with the ability to analyse information from different sources, and make informed business decisions.
Results orientated approach - focused on achieving measurable benefits for the organisation
Demonstrate capability of influencing stakeholders and the ability to challenge the status quo.
To have the ability to convert theoretical knowledge and apply it to practical situations within the business in order for the business to achieve its aims.
Highly organised, analytical, logical and numerical, with the ability to work without supervision
To maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and develop enhanced internal controls
Self motivated, driven, conscientious and persistent
To be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
To work on own initiative and prioritise workload, meet deadlines and delivery first-class customer service
Ability to work well and think clearly under pressure
To develop the role by learning new skills and show a willingness to be flexible at all times
To work as part of a team
