Due to expansion Active Transport Ltd
Require a Freight Forwarding / Customs clerk
Main responsibilities are:
Planning and arranging collections and deliveries
Liaising with customers, carriers, suppliers, shipping lines, port authorities etc. by telephone, email etc.
Obtaining the necessary paperwork, Bill of ladings etc.
Admin support to all parties.
Calculating Duty / VAT for the consignments and keeping up to date with changes in Regulations and law. Ongoing training.
Data input and general admin.
Skills and qualities:
Previous experience within Freight forwarding.
Knowledge of customs declarations in freight forwarding/logistics an advantage.
Ability to work under pressure (deadlines), independently and within a team.
Attention to detail, competent in Microsoft and Outlook and ability to learn new procedures.
Be driven and self-motivated.
Would suit someone with a Customs Clearance background.
The position is Full time with some evening and weekend cover by email/telephone.
Office in Dover, Kent.
General hours 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday
Salary dependant on Experience
