You will provide support to people in the community who are struggling with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. You will be part of our new service which supports people who have enduring mental health issues, and those with complex social factors affecting their ability to live independently. It works with people when other services are not quite right for their needs – possibly because the support is too short-term or does not consider wider factors impacting on their mental health.
We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of mental health issues and cares about helping people regain their independence. You will empower people to lead their own recovery by telling us what kind of support they need. This strength-based approach involves working with people to produce personalised recovery support plans based around their goals and aspirations (as well as considering risks and how to manage them).
You will also hold one-to-one support sessions that focus on mental health insight, awareness and resilience. This role involves working closely with other local organisations, including health and social care professionals, Live Well Kent mental health wellbeing service, and other voluntary sector providers.
The role requires:
- Experience of mental health recovery focused support
- Knowledge of the mental health services
- Ability to develop supportive and trusting relationships with people
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with other professionals and organisations
- Experience of working independently and managing your own workload
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
Interview date: 27th April 2021
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility required
About Porchlight: : Porchlight is passionate about helping vulnerable people to reach their full potential. We strive for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where everyone has a chance to thrive.
Employee Benefits: As a member of the Porchlight team, you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits including:
- Free life insurance
- Flexible working hours
- 25 days holiday per year (increasing to 30 days after 5 years service) pro rata
- Porchlight pension scheme (contributions matched up to 7%)
- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme
