Trade Compliance Specialist

Medway - Flexible Remote Working

£55k - £65k DOE

Mon - Fri (40 Hours)



Our well-established client is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to join them on a full time and permanent basis.



This position requires an analytical individual with a self-motivated high level of focus on results, broadly involved in compliance activities. The successful candidate will be working with external suppliers including freight forwarders and internal teams to support and monitor the timely and cost-effective import and export of goods.

Duties include;

* Trade Compliance and Supply Chain risk identification
* Overseeing import and export controls, ensuring all are compliant, timely and cost effective

* Management of audits, applications for rulings and other negotiations with local UK customs authorities

* Monitoring of Deferment accounts to ensure the company are trading within limits
* Communicating and maintaining the oversight with Customs agents, reviewing all customs documentation to check and verify all are entered correctly
* Managing contracts with all Forwarders and Suppliers
* Monitor and circulate new and changing product compliance laws and regulations
* Ensuring commodity classifications set appropriately
* Supporting business projects such as Brexit, MDR; Modern Slavery, LSAS, providing advice and solutions in respect of trade compliance and risk
* Reviewing, updating, or creating new policies and manuals

The successful candidate will have/be;

* Extensive experience in a compliance role
* In depth knowledge of trade compliance and customs procedures
* A pro-active and practical problem solver
* Ideally from a background within Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain
* Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
* Adaptable and versatile in learning ever changing compliance
