This new vacancy represents a great opportunity for you to join a Canterbury firm of Accountants and become their tax specialist. The firm is now looking to recruit a Tax Senior/ Tax Manager to enhance the team and provide specialist knowledge and support to clients. This is a permanent position, and full or part-time working would be considered.
Ideally, ATT qualified or studying for this professional tax qualification. Candidates who are CTA qualified would be of great interest. You will need a comprehensive appreciation of the UK tax system and be proactive in helping your private clients by straightforwardly explaining complex matters.
Tax Specialist Responsibilities:
Your typical activities will include:
• This firm works in conjunction with a Tax Boutique, and you will support them in providing a proactive, confidential and discreet service to their clients.
• Ensuring that tax returns are filed in accordance with tax authorities.
• Researching and understanding tax law
• Read and interpret Council Opinions
• Speaking to clients to gather information and explain options
• Liaising with HM Revenue and Customs on clients’ behalf
• Checking and completing tax forms
• Auditing clients’ tax records and assisting in audits
• Gathering information and explaining options for best practice to clients
• Preparing quarterly and annual tax compliance.
Tax Specialist Requirements and preferred skills:
• Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
• Proven experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst, or similar
• Strong knowledge of accounting and tax laws and procedures
• Computer literacy in accounting software
• Good numerical skills
• A keen eye for detail
• Outstanding analytical skills
The firm works from offices in Canterbury, and you can work part of the time in the office and part working from home.
If the position is part-time, the salary offered will be pro-rata.
