Casual Care workers are used to fill the gaps in our staff team. Covering annual leave, sickness and vacancies. Our casual care workers play a vital role ensuring that our services run smoothly and safely. Their flexibility, passion and skills are used across all our services, working alongside our current Support Workers.

Helping our residents with their day to day lives, encouraging them to live as independently as possible, this is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service users and their families.

Having a background in supporting people with Autism in a previous role within a social care environment is desirable, although it isn\'t essential. What is essential is that you understand that autism can be complex and challenging and that each person we support is unique.

About the Service: Perrys Close

Perry\'s Close is a residential service located in Faversham. The building itself is unique, we have 6 on suite bedrooms as well as communal living and dining areas to suit the needs of our 6 residents. Age range varies from 23 to 60 years old. We have 5 male residents and 1 female.

Some of our residents also have additional needs such as epilepsy, myotonic dystrophy and sysphagia.

We have a resident that is double incontinent so full support with personal care is always given.

Some of the residents can also show some challenging behaviours that can include swearing, spitting and hitting out.

Activity wise, with Covid we try and do as many activities as we can safely, such as walks which may include a picnic and indoor activities such as cooking, baking, gardening and arts and crafts. When allowed, and safe to do so, other activities will resume, like going to the cinema, bowling and trips out to places such as Leeds Castle.

In Canterbury, Ashford, and Swale we have 2 Day Services, 3 Residential Homes, 1 respite centre, and 1 Supported Living Service in this area, supporting people with autism, learning disabilities and related difficulties such as epilepsy, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours.

Some of the great activities we have in our area include our own allotment, regular activities in the local community such as bowling, horse riding, swimming, therapy sessions, trampoline sessions, and visits to places of interests. Other activities include talking walks to the local seafront of countryside locations, swimming, and communal activities such as BBQs and themed Parties.

We provide a non-aversive, person centred approach to all the people we support. Come and be part of our fantastic team!
