We are working exclusively with a leading Swiss forwarding and transport company who are opening an office in Dover and are looking for an experienced Customs Manager to join them at this pivotal time.
This role is key to the businesses success of creating a UK branch of their successful international brand, this is a newly created role and you will be reporting at Director Level to the team in Switzerland.
The role will include assisting with the setup of the Dover based office, creating and implementing procedures and practises for the office and also assisting with the recruitment of all other staff required.
About you:
* Demonstrable experience including full Customs clearance including import and export
* Leadership and management skills, able to drive the business forward when expanding the team
* Knowledge of UK import/export and EU transit procedures and full knowledge of UK customs legislation
* Be able to identify and provide solutions as to where the business can be improved upon
* An excellent communicator, able to provide reports to senior management and assist with the growth of the department
* Work well under pressure, have exceptional organisational skills and operate in a fast paced and busy environment
In return you will be awarded a competitive salary as well as a generous benefits package, you will be required to travel within the UK to visit customers so you must have a willingness to travel.
