Manufacturing Manager

Working for a successful and growing manufacturing company, we are recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Manager whose background lies from within engineering design and production. You will be a candidate who has the drive and ambition to continue the success and growth of the business.

Reporting to the MD, you will be managing daily manufacturing activities and will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure an effective operation is maintained. You will be understanding of short lead times and be able to deliver results often under pressure. This is very much a hands-on management role.

The role

* Ensuring day-to-day production operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
* Management of the manufacturing team consisting of a Team Leader and a team of Multi-skilled Operators
* Production and resource planning to ensure achievement of the sales order plan and producing weekly and daily production plans
* Develop skill set of manufacturing team
* Identify and implement projects to improve productivity and product quality
* Occasionally produce 2D CAD drawings for product customer approval
* Check CADCAM drawings and programs as required
* Troubleshoot problems to achieve quick and effective resolution - mechanical, electrical and instrumentation.
* Provide advice and support to the Team Leader and Operators as required
* Where necessary investigate customer complaints, implement fixes and feedback to customer
* Implementation of TPM and arranging both routine and breakdown maintenance

The person

* Possess sheet metal manufacturing management and leadership experience with an emphasis on stainless steel
* CADCAM skills
* Have a sound understanding of lean methodologies and continuous improvement projects Experience of production and resource planning in a JIT environment
* TPM skills
* Good Excel skills and able to create simple 'programmes/modules' to improve operations
